LION’S DEN MMA – The Lion’s Den MIXED MARTIAL ARTS class is a great way to learn the fundamentals of MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. From basic boxing striking to Muay-Thai kickboxing, to submission holds and Jiu-Jitsu, this is a great program to learn confidence, skill, or simply to kick off your mixed martial arts career. Taught by national grappling champion Rob Klezun and world Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion and professional MMA fighter Danilo Cherman, this training session is for all levels. With two instructors teaching, we will seperate the more experienced from the beginner, allowing each member to learn at their own level. If you want the whole “cage fighter” experience, this class is for you.
LIONS DEN BOXING CLUB – Taught by former Light-heavyweight contender John “The Iceman” Scully, this 3 hour a day club gives you “old school” boxing training. You will not only learn the fundamentals of boxing, but you will train like a boxer. From light sparring to jumping rope, to plyometric training, you will train like a champion even if you never compete. The Lion’s Den Boxing Club is safe, fun and a great way to learn while getting your body into great shape. Though this club is for those looking to learn to box, you do not have to participate in sparring sessions if you dont want to. You do not have to be here from 4-7pm. Come and go whenever you like during those three hours!
BOXING CONDITIONING– If you ever wondered how boxer’s get into great shape, this class will show you how. This class is a total body workout that involves NO PUNCHING CONTACT WITH OTHERS. Armed with your own 150lb heavy-bag, you’ll be taken on a series of intense punching drills guaranteed to tone up those arms and shoulders. If you think it’s all upper body—think again. Our top pros will target those legs and abs throughout the hour long, 1000 calorie an hour burning training session to ensure an over-all body work-out that’s second to none!
YOGA – Practice strengthening and lengthening while enhancing your connection to breathe. This is an entire core workout that will leave you feeling strong, flexible, and with a greater mind body connection.
SUBMISSION WRESTLING TAKEDOWNS – Taught by former collegiate wrestling champion and undefeated MMA fighter, Mike Cerrone,  you’ll learn not only the fundamentals of wrestling, but how to apply these fundamentals when pertaining to mixed martial arts. Submission wrestling will focus on taking your opponent to the ground while maintaining dominant control with a heavy emphasis on transitioning for submissions. This class will also touch on how to counter submissions and submission defense.
LION’S DEN BJJ (BRAZILAN JIU-JITSU) – Taught by three-time world BJJ champion and Vitor Shaolin training partner, Danilo Cherman, you’ll learn the correct techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu starting at the white belt level. Considered by many to be the “back-bone” of MMA, BJJ emphasizes ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint-locks and chokeholds. The premise is that most of the advantage of a larger, stronger opponent comes from superior reach and more powerful strikes, which are negated when grappling on the ground. This is a great class for beginners or the more advanced since we will be running both! Ad this to your full MMA class, the ELITE boxing class and our Combat Muay-Thai class and be unstoppable!
CARDIO KICKBOXING – As like all of our cardio classes, cardio kickboxing focuses on an over-all body workout designed for tightening and toning while giving your body an intense cardio pulmonary workout. Stretching and flexibility are key, but not necessary in the beginning. Our kick-boxing instructors will teach and guide you through a thorough pre-workout stretch before you begin your punching and kicking assault on the 150lb heavy-bag. As with all of our cardio based classes, be ready to burn those calories!
ELITE FOCUS MITTS AND CARDIO MUAY-THAI – Once again, Jason Gruczka will take you through a one hour “boot camp” style training session sure to burn almost 1,000 calories! With an emphasis on precise punching and kicking, the focus mitts offer amazing resistance sure to tighten and tone while you learn. Along with punching, Gina will hone into the techniques of Muay-Thai kickboxing, giving those legs of yours a killer workout while learning to kick the heavy-bag. As with all our classes, be ready to get in the best shape of your life!
CARDIO MUAY-THAI KICK-BOXING – This class may become so addicting you’ll find yourself shopping for shin guards after only an hour! In an all out hour long blitz of punching and kicking, get ready to burn those calories while learning the art of Muay-Thai kick-boxing. Be ready to have fun, and to work out hard!
COMBAT MUAY-THAI – Literally a how-to-guide on the Muay-Thai fighting art. Taught by Muay-Thai expert Jason Gruczka, this class will be given inside the Octagon or Ring and focus on over-all Muay-Thai techniques for those who are serious about learning. Though great for the more experienced, this class is also great for beginners. Whether you need to ad a little “stand-up” to your ground game or simply just want to learn for self-defense, this is the class for you!
LIONS DEN KIDS BBJ/LIONS CUBS TRAINING – (AGES 5-14) Taught by world Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Danilo Cherman, The Lion’s Kids program is broken down into two separate classes, twice a week. One is for our slightly older cubs (11-15) and the other for our younger cubs (5-10). Our Lion’s Cub Kids MMA Class will not only focus on the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Muay-Thai Kickboxing, Wrestling and boxing at a very safe level, but will focus on discipline and over-all exercise knowledge for our youngest members. The ranking system will go from white tee shirt to our Lions Den black and red tee when you reach the top. Keep in mind that we do not “Hand Out” achievements here at the Lions Den. If you’re wearing the black and red Lions Den tee, you can be sure you’ve earned it. This class is a great confidence builder and lots of fun!
LION’S DEN JUNIOR OLYMPIC BOXING – (AGES 8-16) Sure to be one of our more popular classes, our Junior Olympic Boxing Program is run by coach Johnny Callas. Coach Callas has over 20 years experience grooming young champions. From jabs to hooks, footwork to mastering defense, coach Callas will groom your child into a skilled boxer. Ranked as one of the safest sports for children, Lions Den Junior Olympic Boxing will not only give your child the skills he or she needs to compete, but will help them in gaining over-all confidence along with exercise knowledge they will have for life. So whether your son or daughter just wants to learn boxing at a fun and safe level, or they have aspirations of being our next Junior Olympic Champ, this class is where they begin!
